Records include letters, inspection reports, notes, case summaries, state aid approval records, financial data, statistics, lists of wards, audits, by-laws, articles of incorporation, annual reports, and pamphlets. Topics include commitment and adoption of children, Child Welfare Commission policies, care facilities histories, treatment and health of children, scandals and standards, and the relationship between the Commission and W.G. McLaren of the Pacific Protective Society. Care facilites included in the correspondence are the Albertina Kerr Nursery Home; Boys ? Children's Home, Portland; Children's Farm Home, Corvallis; Christie School for Girls; Jewish Shelter Home; Louise Home; Mother and Children's Home; St. Agnes Baby Home; St. Rose Industrial School/House of Good Shepard; Waverly Baby Home; Salvation Army White Shield Home; Florence Crittenton Home/E. Henry Wemme White Shield Home; Pacific Protective Society; Portland Fruit and Flower Mission Day Nursery; Doernbecher Hospital; Elizabeth Cottage; Frazer Detention Home; and St. Mary's Home For Boys. State Institutions include: Fairview Home, State Industrial School for Girls, Oregon School for the Blind, Oregon State School for the Deaf, and the Oregon State Training School.
